“Pure Bliss was a collaboration between longtime Collide guitarist, Scott Landes, and ourselves. This is one of those songs that I always felt just didn’t get the attention it should have.” — Statik
Originally from Two Headed Monster (2004), this version fits perfectly with the new songs we’re sharing on Signals (Volume 2).
For the Signals Mix, Statik added new programming to the drums and made sure the heavy guitars and kaRIN’s vocals really cut through.
We hope you love it as much as we do.
We know we said Signals (Volume 1) was coming out on 7/18, but we decided to let it go today!
It’s out now on our website and on Bandcamp — streaming will come later. Statik put a lot of energy into making these new mixes and evolutions of the songs the best they can be—we hope you think so too!
Stay tuned for Volume 2 in September!
Thanks for listening and for helping us keep the music alive.

The 4th single from Signals (Volume 1), was relased today!
Most people haven’t heard this one… and honestly, we almost forgot about it ourselves!
Back in 2012, we recorded After Dark for a special single put together by Patrick Rodgers — the same Patrick who first brought us out to play his legendary Dracula’s Ball in 2004. When he asked us to contribute to a special event celebrating songs from From Dusk ’til Dawn, we were more than happy to say yes.
The song, of course, comes from Salma Hayek’s iconic dance scene in the film.
For Signals (Volume 1), we dug up the original files and gave After Dark a brand new mix. We’re excited for you to finally hear it again — or maybe for the very first time.
Sink your teeth in.
The 3rd single from Signals (Volume 1) is released today!
It is “The Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum”, and was originally released on our album Vortex back in 2004.
We have a brand new video to celebrate the release! We hope you like it and spread it to everyone far and wide!
Out Now: Our New Single “Head Spin”!
The latest single from Signals (Volume 1) is here — “Head Spin” is out now on all streaming platforms!
This one’s not as dark as some of our songs — some might even call it fun.?!!
It also ended up being included on the NCIS soundtrack, but we still think it hasn’t reached enough ears. So if you like and want to dance with your friends to it, help us out by sharing it around in your playlists and links!
And if you’re curious — we’ve got a rare behind-the-scenes video from the studio while kaRIN was recording vocals… plus a peek from a photoshoot around that same time, featuring Rosie the bird.
https://youtu.be/rqxB1ZwdH3c
The clothing for the video (and Rosie the bird) were provided and designed by kaRIN’s best friend Terri King. Terri also makes an appearance in the video and was responsible for shaping the looks of many, many a musician including NIN, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osborne to name a very few. Terri was an amazing person that was taken too soon from an aggressive and deadly cancer. She is very missed.
We hope you enjoy!!

We’re starting things off slowly—with the song "Shimmer", the first single off of Signals (Volume 1). It will be released today --this Friday June 13th. "Shimmer" appeared on the album Some Kind of Strange. Although not one of the more popular songs on the album, this track remains as one of Statik’s favorites from the album.
Statik:
“There’s just something about the feel of this track I’ve always loved. Like a lot of our music, it doesn’t fit neatly into any one category. I’ve always loved how the vocals and instruments blend and play off each other—especially in the chorus.
kaRIN’s vocals are ethereal, intimate, and hauntingly melodic. She delivers the lyrics with a kind of breathy sensuality—delicate but emotionally charged. There’s a softness and vulnerability in her tone, but it’s layered with strength and control—like she’s whispering secrets from another world. Her phrasing glides over the textures of the song, creating a hypnotic, dreamlike atmosphere that perfectly complements the shimmering, moody instrumentation.
It’s the kind of vocal performance that doesn’t demand attention—it lures you in.
For the new Signals Mix, I wanted to let each instrument have its space—to stand out where it should and step back when needed. I wanted everything to breathe. We can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Collide

"We just wanted to make the kind of music that we wanted to hear."
Once upon a time, somewhere around 1992, two people met at an industrial dance club. One was very thirsty, so they asked the other to get them some water. After the liquid reached the glass, the two began a conversation, which became a friendship, and then formed a creative union.
The creative union became what is known as COLLIDE. The primary core of the Los Angeles based duo is Statik and kaRIN. Statik is responsible for the sound orchestrations and overall production. kaRIN takes care of the vocals and lyrics.
The essence of COLLIDE is the coming together of two opposing entities to form a symbiotic whole ... combining the female and masculine energies, the cognitive and the subliminal, the strength and the mystery.
To date, the duo have released eleven full length CDs and a DVD -- Beneath the Skin, Distort, Chasing the Ghost, Some Kind of Strange, Vortex, Live at the El Rey, Like the Hunted, Ultrashiver (with Dean Garcia of Curve, Two Headed Monster, These Eyes Before, Counting to Zero, and Bent and Broken. In 2020 they re-released their albums Chasing the Ghost, and Some Kind of Strange as 2 disc Blu-Ray/CD Special Editions.
"Our eternal thanks to those who seek out and expose new music."
