Details: living in London, England to study
Music Tech at university. I'm also the singer/songwriter for a band called
HybridiuM (a mix of the EBM, Industrial and Metal genres)...we're all
very serious musicians and we're all aspiring producers too. We're unsigned
at the moment mainly due to the fact we're not concentrating on gigs at
the moment as we're putting all our efforts into completing our 2nd of
a three year Degree course in Music Technology in London. We're currently
trying to get some funding for our very own website which is to be (some
day) HybridiuM.co.uk but we're building a free site in the mean time using
geocities.
EQUIPMENT USED: Acid Pro 4 to convert the mp3 to wav. ready for editing
in Logic Audio 5.5. I used various plug-ins such as the 'low pass filter'
(with automation to vary the frequency ranges) and 'bitcrusher' for the
"complicated" vocal loop, 'clip distortion' on one drum track
and 'flange' on another, 'stereo delay' with high feedback on a very small
vocal sample to give that rising echo effect just before the chorus, 'amplitube'
on the clean guitar used in the verses to give it a retro chorus sound,
and finally 'reverb' and 'vocal eq' on the main vocals. Also added was
a mixture of the ES2 audio instrument and the Roland XV5050 for extra
synth. I was going to use Pro Tools for the Stereo amster but I have the
Win XP system which doesn't support it as stand alone. If you would like
it to be mastered in Pro Tools, as I know it's better than Logic for mastering
and finalising, then let me know and I will use the university Mac facilities
to do so.
